Gold Leaves,  Gold Lives.

Gold as a natural material exists much longer than human history. As the moment the ancestors found it, they were attracted by the sun-like color and practical advantages. Gold has been pursued and cherished by generations and generations for thousands of years.

However, one can only own gold for a while in her/his limited life. On the contrary, Gold which was once belonged to someone can always exist in different forms. Gold is the witness of every being, documenting the history and showing the imprint of lives.

I choose to apply the gold foil onto the faded plant’s surface. The gold foil can easily follow the shape and show the detailed texture due to its thinness. By doing so, as time goes by, the gold foil can keep the form of plants when inside is decayed. Gold act as a document material of lives.
