(Wearable) Object
Mateial: Electric cable

What technology has changed our living environments? What is nature now? Thereupon, I set myself to explore the new form of nature by repurposing everyday object – cable.

Cable is indispensable but easily overlooked in our everyday life, transmitting electricity constantly to provide essential energy to our life. They are buried in the ground and structures, sprawling to almost every space. Cable is to our everyday life is what a branch is to the leaves. I reshaped the cable into branches-looking objects and wearable pieces with various treatments to represent the blurry boundary between technology and nature, which are both strongly associated with us today.

I re-interpret natural figures in Chinese traditional landscape painting, transforming them into the tangible modern world from canvas, to show the changes in nature during thousands of years.
